  Socket Construction

Precision sized for pointing accuracy

Press ring interferes with mounting hole to secure socket at any set height

Indent retains probe and provides secure electrical connection between socket and probe tube

Strong, straight, airtight soldered construction

Round or square tailpins are available in a variety of lengths

Cross-sections of the soldered socket joint show the interference fit of the tailpin in the tube and the complete filling of all gaps with solder

The design and construction of the socket are as critical to the test process as the probe itself.

QA Technology offers sockets deep-drawn from nickel silver, beryllium copper, stainless steel or our proprietary high-conductivity alloy. They may also be gold plated depending upon the application requirements.

The sockets come in a variety of termination styles including wire wrap pin, round pin, solder cup, wire crimp and a one-millimeter diameter rounded tail for plug connectors.

Our .100 [2.54] and .075 [1.91] center spacing sockets are made by automatically soldering the round or square tail pins to the socket tube. This generation of sockets sets new standards in straightness, leak-tightness and strength in both tension and torsion.
